Oak National Academy was created in April 2020 as a rapid response to the coronavirus outbreak. Teachers and colleagues from leading education organisations came together to support schools’ efforts to keep children learning.

Since then, we’ve developed 40,000 resources with the support of 550 teachers and delivered over 130 million lessons in our online classroom.

In the event of a Lockdown or if your child needs to self-isolate, Mrs Gibson and Miss Grant will timetable weekly lessons from Oak Learning for your child. Each lesson lasts for one hour we will provide the equivalent of three hours of lessons per day for our children via the links provided.

A weekly timetable will be emailed to you or published on our school website in the event of a ‘Lockdown.’

An example timetable follows. Work completed may be emailed to class teachers for feedback. mrsgibson@haskayne.lancs.sch.uk missgrant@haskayne,lancs.sch.uk

In addition to Oak Academy lessons, we will also be sending home White Rose Maths Home-learning booklets, appropriate for your child’s level of learning and progress.

These booklets compliment the lessons and learning style the children receive here at Downholland Haskayne CE Primary School.

Every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child complete the activity successfully. You can access the videos by logging on to: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/

The children will also be given tasks to complete on Reading Eggs.

If your child has an EHCP the SENCo will be in touch with an individual timetable tailored for their needs.
